BB Lightconcepts is pleased to announce that, after a thorough examination, the Cradle to Cradle certificate has been successfully extended. To date BB-Lightconcepts is the only industrial light producer with a Cradle to Cradle certificate. The new Cradle to Cradle certificate is awarded to BB Lightconcepts for the BB LEDlightpipe and is valid for two years. The certificate is awarded on the basis of the ‘Cradle to Cradle’ principle, this principle is the ultimate form of Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard guides designers and manufacturers through a continual improvement process that looks at a product through different categories. The five quality categories are: material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship and social fairness. All BB LEDlightpipe® fixtures meet the criteria and are certified by the Cradle to Cradle organization.
Every two years, manufacturers must demonstrate good faith efforts to improve their products in order to have their products recertified. More information can be found on the website of the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
